  • New biodiesel product announced at Independent Liquid Terminal Association Conference
  • (HOUSTON, TX) May 1, 2007- Gulf Hydrocarbon, the premier provider of biodiesel to the petroleum industry, is pleased to announce the additional of dyed red biodiesel to its product line at IFL terminal in Houston, TX. The dye red is automatically blended into biodiesel at the loading rack in the terminal, mixed according to IRS protocol using a mechanical injection system to insert the dye red into the biodiesel. The dye red biodiesel is used off-road by construction companies, ranchers, farmers, and standby generators, marine and drilling industries because of its non-taxable incentive provided by the US government. The cost of dye red biodiesel is comparable to diesel and current pricing can be found through OPIS or DTN. Scott Hughes, Director of Governmental Affairs for the National Biodiesel Board, “Dye red presents a wonderful non-taxable option for farmers, ranchers, off-road equipment haulers to better manage their logistics costs. The tax incentives will continue to help develop the biodiesel industry and preserve our natural resources. Gulf Hydrocarbon is truly a pioneer in the industry by providing this product at the pump in their terminals.” Gulf Hydrocarbon is currently offering dye red biodiesel to Louisiana and Texas distributors that sell the product to farmers. Distributors in the Louisiana and Texas area include O’Roarke Petroleum Products, Talen’s Marine and Temple Oil Company.

  • Petroleum distributors can fill up on biodiesel 24/7 at new terminal S. of Chicago
  • HAMMOND, Ind.-- Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. has opened up a wholesale biodiesel facility south of Chicago that offers biodiesel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in an easy-to-use, convenient wholesale distribution pump. "High volume biodiesel wholesalers and distributors are coming in at all hours of the night, loading up to avoid traffic," said Jess Hewitt, president of Gulf Hydrocarbon. "Chicago is undergoing a huge construction project that is crippling major freeways, so our automated 24/7 infrastructure will make the difference in making biodiesel profitable for some distributors." The facility allows tankers, transport trucks, rail cars to add 100 percent agri-biodiesel fuel (B100) to their diesel fuel mix. The terminal, located at 3200 Sheffield Ave., Hammond, Ind., has a capacity of 52 MM gallons total storage, 1.2 MM bbls of total storage. At the Wolf Lake terminal, the drivers preset a meter for the requested volume, connect their hoses, and flip a switch to start pumping the B100.

Hewitt said the terminal began carrying biodiesel in January, but just recently went to 24/7 B100 access. "Through the middle of a freezing winter, we pumped hundreds of thousands of gallons of heated biodiesel fuel in Hammond," he said. "Our wholesale customers have reported great success using it; they have increased their orders far beyond their own projections." The terminal will also improve availability for large fleet customers. Gulf Hydrocarbon's distribution specialist, Ron Richardson, said the Hammond terminal serves jobbers and distributors in the Chicago area as well as North Central Illinois and Indiana. He said the company is negotiating contracts to supply several local municipalities and transit systems. The launch of biodiesel at this terminal means retail gas stations will now have easier access to biodiesel blends, opening the door to more public pumps in the area. A map of public pumps can be seen at www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel. "Efficient and cost-effective distribution is one of the most important elements of any energy industry," said Joe Jobe, CEO of the National Biodiesel Board.

"Increasing the number of facilities like these is important to getting biodiesel into the fuel tanks of Americans and helping to supplement our nation's energy supply." Gulf Hydrocarbon has also recently launched a second terminal in Houston. Intercontinental Fuels, or IFL, terminal offers biodiesel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the wholesale distribution terminal located in North Houston near Bush Intercontinental Airport. The IFL facility allows bobtail trucks and transport trucks to add 100 percent agri-biodiesel fuel (B100) to their diesel fuel mix. The terminal, located at 17617 Aldine-Westfield Rd., has a capacity of 6.7 million gallons of total storage, 420,000 gallons of storage for biodiesel. NBB estimates that 27 petroleum terminals have invested in equipment to make biodiesel a significant part of their business. Today, more than 600 major fleets use biodiesel commercially, and 700 retail filling stations make it available to the public. Established in 1997, Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. is the premier provider of biodiesel to the petroleum industry. Offering competitively-priced biodiesel for large end-users and petroleum companies, Gulf Hydrocarbon also offers marketing strategies to producers that wish to contract for high-volume off-take agreements and risk management of biodiesel or biodiesel feedstocks. Specialized services include biodiesel production, blending, plant operation, tolling, plant development and financing. • AGE REFINING BEGINS BLENDING B20 FOR SOUTHWEST TEXAS MARKET San Antonio based refinery offers B20 for first time in Texas “at the rack”

SAN ANTONIO, TX, May 17, 2005 – AGE Refining, Inc, an independent refinery based in San Antonio, TX announced today the launch of its B20 biodiesel fuel, a 20% mixture of biodiesel and 80% Diesel fuel that meets EPAct (Energy Policy Act) compliance.

The product will be a blend of two premium products – sulfur free, soybean based and renewable biodiesel, provided by Houston- based Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. and AGE's premium diesel. B20 is competitively priced with current market premium diesel and will meet distributor’s increased demand for biodiesel since the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit recently approved for use of biodiesel. In addition, Texas has reduced its state fuel excise tax from 20 cents/gallon to 16 cents/gallon to encourage use of B20 BioDiesel Fuel.

AGE’s introduction of B20 is the first time in Texas that this environmentally friendly fuel will be available at the refinery rack. Typically distributors have had to load fleet fuel tanks with 2500-7500 gallons and transport it to wholesale petroleum distributors (known as jobbers) across the state. Now jobbers can purchase B20 straight from AGE’s rack at their San Antonio-based refinery, reducing transportation costs and increasing productivity. The B20 Diesel Fuel will be available from respected petroleum distributors throughout the South Texas area including:

    Dixie Oil Company Tetco, Inc.

San Antonio, TX San Antonio, TX

Johnson Oil Company World Fuel Services, Inc.

    Gonzales, TX Houston, TX

Glen Gonzalez, Executive Vice President, AGE Refining, Inc., “We are committed to providing a competitively priced, environmentally friendly biodiesel that is convenient and easy to transport. AGE Refining’s ability to offer B20 underscores our mission: a commitment to the environment that equals our commitment to producing high quality fuels.”
